The Fort Polk-KNF Oversight Committee met four times during fiscal year (FY) 2007. Key Oversight Committee accomplishments included development and approval of new SEMP metrics and associated performance targets, monitoring and reporting protocols in the following three areas:

• Land rehabilitation and maintenance (Objective 1-2);
• Longleaf pine forest management (Objective 2-2); and
• Hunting and other recreational opportunities on the Fort Polk and Peason Ridge Wildlife Management Areas and in the KNF Limited Use Area (Objective 4-1);

The FY 2007 Monitoring and Evaluation Status Summary Table identifies the SEMP objectives for which monitoring and evaluation protocols were implemented as of the end of FY 2007, along with the future years in which monitoring and evaluation for remaining the objectives is expected to begin. As of the end of FY 2007, monitoring and evaluation was underway for 5 of 14 objectives, and development of metrics and performance targets had begun for 2 additional objectives.
